Summary: We are seeking an experienced and motivated IT Manager to join our startup team. In this role, you will oversee and ensure the smooth and efficient operation of our company's IT department, including a team of 3, while directly coordinating with the founding team to articulate IT needs and contribute to business goals.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all IT-related functions, including systems, network infrastructure, computer operations, and telephony systems.
  • Develop and implement IT policies and procedures to support the company's goals and objectives, with an emphasis on maintaining SOC2 or ISO27001 certification standards.
  • Manage video conferencing solutions like Zoom Webinars, collaboration suites like Google Workspace & Slack, Productivity apps like Microsoft Office 365, Asset Management tools like Manage Engine and Anti virus softwares like Trellix Anti-virus. Manage configuration and maintenance of laptop and mobile devices running Windows and MacOS, Android and iOS. Configure and maintain Firewall devices, switches, network access points.
  • Manage CCTV setup - configuration and maintenance.
  • Manage blacklist/whitelist of softwares that are installed on company owned devices. Manage relationships with laptop vendors.
  • Coordinate with department heads and the company’s leadership team to identify IT needs and provide optimal solutions.
  • Manage IT staff of 3 members, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure security of data, network access, and backup systems.
  • Act in alignment with user needs and system functionality to contribute to organizational policy.
  • Manage inventory of assets.
  • Audit systems and assess their outcomes.
  • Manage vendors, negotiate with suppliers of software, computers, and IT equipment. Vendors can be for laptop leasing, device maintenance and more.
  • Oversee equipment management and stock keeping in co-ordination with admin teams.
  • Manage the company's internet connection infrastructure.
  • Over time, be responsible for the company’s security strategy and implementation of toolsets for DLP, SIEM and intelligent incident monitoring.
  • Managing telephony systems - PRI lines, dialers. Thorough knowledge of telephony part of contact center/call center management.
  • Organize the audio-visual equipment and hosting software (Zoom) for team and company events.
  • Key success criteria for your role will include: your (and your team’s) performance, system uptime, incident occurrence frequency and incident response, employee satisfaction with the IT department and cost management.

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in the IT field, with at least 2-3 years in a management role.
  • Proven experience in a startup environment.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills. Adaptable with changing priorities of the organization. Good problem-solving skills. Ability to work with a team that consists of juniors, peers and senior members.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate IT needs clearly to non-technical team members and negotiate effectively with vendors.
  • Experience working in a company that holds SOC2 or ISO27001 certification is preferred.
