The role:

This is an exciting opportunity to be the first member of the Proposal Operations team at Ushur. Not only will you lead Ushur’s responses to RFIs/RFPs, but you will also have the opportunity to build out the function in the process. This is a chance to take your experience and experience to help us mature our approach to proposals. We are looking for people with initiative and know-how to grow this important function to make sure it scales with our growing marketing, sales, and customer success teams. You will support a team of Sales Directors and ensure we are successfully selected as finalists. You should love project management, collaborating with subject matter experts, strategic selling, and writing powerfully in as few words as possible. Intellectual curiosity will be key in order to master the complex subject matter that goes into Ushur proposals. You will constantly be juggling multiple, competing deadlines, adapting yourself to different team members' styles, and ensuring no detail is missed with a constant eye toward how to better communicate the importance of Customer Experience Automation and what makes Ushur’s solution unique. The Proposal Manager will report to the VP, Sales Operations & Enablement.

 

Remote / EMEA (1PM-10PM IST/2PM-11PM IST) hours / Sales / Full-time

 

What you’ll do in this role:

  • Ensure clear and concise written proposals that help Ushur win new and renew existing business.
  • Manage and juggle multiple proposal projects simultaneously without compromising quality or missing (often aggressive) deadlines.
  • Adeptly use and navigate many different technologies including RFP management software (e.g., RFPIO, Loopio, etc.), Salesforce, and the Ushur solution.
  • Develop a deep understanding of Customer Experience Automation, Ushur’s unique differentiators, and the competitive landscape.
  • Institute a periodic review process; work internally or with the help of designated subject matter experts to maintain the RFP content database.
  • Proactively work to continuously improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the RFP response process.

What we’re looking for:

  • 5 - 8 years’ experience in proposal development, preferably in an early-stage, SaaS environment.
  • A collaborative teammate who enjoys working with others and developing strong partnerships to achieve the best outcome.
  • Naturally curious; never afraid to ask questions or push the status quo.
  • Excellent writer
  • Technologically savvy
  • A strong bias for action
  • Excellent project management skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to lead a project from conception to completion with little oversight.
  • Thinks like an owner with a sense of accountability for each project’s outcome.
  • Government RFP experience is a plus.
