Job Role - SQL Database Administrator

About the role:

Experience SQL Database administration, handling database Development/Administration. Database administrator responsible for supporting the daily administration of the SQL Server, backup, performance monitoring, troubleshooting, configuration, and installation.

To qualify, you must have:

Experience of 5 to 7 years

• Expert in installing and upgrading the SQL Server database

• DB Administration experience in Microsoft SQL Server & PostgreSQL.

• Previous experience with DBA case tools (frontend/backend) and third-party tools

• Problem-solving skills and ability to think algorithmically.

• Expert in allocating system storage and planning future storage requirements

• Expert in creating primary database storage structures

• Expert in creating primary objects (tables, views, indexes) as per the application requirements

• integrate solutions into existing architecture/system,

• Tune, monitor, and troubleshoot applications/software in order to develop software operational environments.

• Strong knowledge in MS SQL replication.

• Experience in linked servers.

• Troubleshooting knowledge of MS SQL servers.

• DBCC commands knowledge.

• Experience in Create, modify, and optimize SQL Server Agent jobs and maintenance plans.

Proactively monitor SQL Server maintenance tasks, troubleshoot failed jobs and resolve issues in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage SQL Server databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems

• Establish and maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures

• Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security

• Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges)

• Perform database tuning and performance monitoring

• Plan growth and changes (capacity planning)

• Perform general technical trouble shooting and give consultation to development teams

• Write optimized stored procedures, functions and views using T-SQL.

• Patch Management and Version Control

• Responsible for maintaining database backups and restore.
• Development of ELT (Extract, Load, Transform) jobs to create tables for use on the tableau server
